Attending the Sodalitas Conference was valuable for me as a first-time homeschool parent. As a dad, Sodalitas was valuable to me because I am not the primary homeschooling parent, and it provides me with a glimpse into the window of my wife’s world as she teaches our children.  Even though I don’t fully understand the topics that are discussed, Sodalitas gives me a great grasp on the subject matter and encourages me for the rest of the year. I’m grateful that my children are able to receive such an education.

Attending Sodalitas is valuable to me because I come home inspired and rejuvenated for the coming school year. I find myself feeling so burnt-out when the school year finally wraps in May, and Sodalitas gets me excited to begin anew in the fall.  Hearing from the different speakers, especially the talks on the Memoria Press mission and philosophy, gives me conviction that we have chosen right in homeschooling our girls with MP’s classical Christian model.  It is encouraging to be surrounded by like-minded individuals with similar goals, and for me it is reassuring and validating to find that most of us share the same fears and concerns about “getting it right.” At Sodalitas I learned helpful “hacks” and practical tips for making our school day more manageable and efficient. Maybe the most significant thing I have learned is that it’s okay not to check every box in the manual or answer every question in the student guide.
