Christian. Classical. Traditional.
Classical education happens best when students do the same work across many subjects and so notice and enjoy the integration of knowledge across courses. It creates a fellowship of learners. Latin and Classical Studies are foundational in this respect. Simply put, you must study the language, history, and culture of the classical world to receive a classical education. If you want this for your child, then we are here to help! If you are still newer to Memoria Press, we encourage you to request a catalog (here) so you can see what classes await your children generally. Specifically for 2018-2019, you are invited to view this chart of our proposed courses. If you have older students for whom you can’t simply order a “complete core” but you are interested in using more curriculum from Memoria Press, please reach out. HLN can help you place your child across all the areas of study, both at tutorial and at home, and/or we can get you in contact with an expert from Memoria Press to discuss your unique situation. It was our love for the Memoria Press curriculum and our desire to give this education to our own children that spurred HLN into existence. Classical education is inherently and profoundly interconnected, and we want all our students to experience that unity across studies.
To this end, fourth grade through high school students must take a minimum of three courses on Monday. Third grade students must take four. Courses require a minimum of 6 students to make, and have a class maximum of 18. As a classical tutorial, we strongly encourage all students to take Latin and Classical Studies to be best prepared for upper school studies.
